Why is going to coworking worth it?

If you stay home, you can get the extra precious minutes in bed, but there is so much more you are missing out on.

Coworking is not only about a desk, but all the small details to make your day, that go hand in hand – putting on nice clothes, journey into town, maybe meeting a friend for a lunch time catch up and what about an after-work drink with new people you met in the office?

The Clothes

Getting dressed in ‘smart’ or ‘work’ clothes has an effect on your mood. The right clothes can make you feel confident which shines through in meetings with colleagues or clients.

Wearing business attire also helps you to unwind after work. When you get home and change out of your work clothes you’re signalling to your brain that work is over.

The Transport

Coming into the city is easy. The transport links are geared to getting you to work on time. You can choose your preferred method: walk, bike or drive if you enjoy that, or get in some reading on a bus, train or tube.

The Food

The city centre is where all the best food is. Whether you want a long lunch in a silver service restaurant or a quick mid-day bite at your desk you can choose from a wide variety of international cuisines. One day it could be take away tacos, the next a sumptuous salad or Asian street food.

The Entertainment

Cities are great for people watching. You’ll find anything from busking bagpipers to sand art on the streets. There are theatres, art galleries, cinemas and museums. Most of which can be enjoyed quickly during a lunch break or leisurely after work.

Your Wellness

Apart from simply taking a walk around the block to get some fresh air and clear your head, there are several places where you can get a workout in before, after or during work.

How about lunchtime language lessons for a cerebral session? There are yoga studios and escape rooms to try as well as city spas, nail bars and gyms.

Don’t underestimate the invigorating power of spending 30 minutes raising, or lowering, your respiratory rate throughout the day.

Socialising

Working in the city centre is convenient for meeting friends. If your friends also happen to work in the city then a quick catch up over lunch can be a tonic. There are some beautiful spaces where you can relax after a hard day’s work. You can share a meal together in a fabulous restaurant, see a show or just relax after dinner in any of a number of pubs or clubs.

It sounds like a very different day to your regular home office routine, doesn’t it?

Swap your PJs bottom for real trousers and have an exciting day in town while getting all your work done.

Some of the coworking spaces nowadays even offer a free trial day (for example Collabor8te 😏), so before getting a membership, you can test out if it is the right one.
