Remote working is great… until it isn’t.
There are so many things to love about working from home – extra time in bed you would have to spend on commuting, cooking your lunch during the break and the sweet freedom of sweatpants. But sometimes it is not enough, and you feel isolated, unproductive, and fed up when your cat/child/partner interrupts your calls.
There is a solution and it’s only an email away – ask your employer for a coworking space.

Subject: Request to fund a coworking membership in Collabor8te
Hi [Your manager’s name],
I wanted to discuss with you the possibility of covering (or contributing toward) a coworking membership, something that would help solve some of the challenges of remote working I am facing.
As much as I value the flexibility of remote work, I’ve found that working from home full-time can feel a bit isolating. There are many studies (for example: business.com or reed.com) that show the advantages of having a coworking space, such as better focus, higher productivity and a positive impact on mental health and work-life balance. It would be great to have a change of scenery at least once a week to break the monotony of working alone and bring some social interaction to my working day.
I’ve looked around, and Collabor8te in the Glasgow city centre seems like the perfect fit. It’s a professional, friendly coworking space with everything I need: super-fast Wi-Fi, phone booths, great coffee (very important), and a strong community vibe. They run various social events and workshops, which would help to combat that lonely feeling from working solo all the time. The main benefits of the space are:
- Long opening hours: 8:30-18:00 (or even 24/7 with certain types of memberships)
- Great set up: monitors, ergonomic chairs, keyboards and mice, laptop raisers
- Private phone booths & meeting rooms: with screens and webcams & meeting rooms
- Some nice perks: tea, coffee, snacks and even a cereal bar
- Flexible memberships: monthly running, no long-term contracts, and just 30 days’ notice to cancel
They offer different membership levels so there are several options to choose from and fit the budget. The monthly cost is reasonable. My personal preference is Regular Base [ -> fill in your preferred membership] which would let me use the space 2–3 times a week, have a personal locker, and even stay after hours when needed. Here are all the membership options.
Would you be open to supporting this as part of my remote working setup? Thanks so much for considering it.
Kind regards,
[Your name]

🎯 Final Tips Before You Hit Send
- Know your value. You’re not asking for a perk—you’re advocating for a setup that helps you do your best work.
- Be flexible. Offer different membership levels or cost-sharing options to keep it budget-friendly.
- Follow up. If you don’t get a response right away, don’t panic. A polite follow-up a few days later keeps the conversation going.
And remember – getting the support you need to feel focused, connected, and motivated is 100% worth asking for! You’re not just investing in your workday—you’re investing in your wellbeing. Got questions? Curious about Collabor8te memberships? We’re always happy to help.
